Fachabteilungen der Krankenhäuser, Anzahl der Betten, Verweildauer sowie Anzahl der behandelten Patienten und des tätigen Personals sind zentrale Informationen, die jährlich erhoben werden. Die Datenbereitstellung erfolgt über die Verwaltungsdaten der Krankenhäuser. Räumlich differenziert sind die Daten bis auf die Ebene der kreisfreien Städte und Kreise.
